Protect the fibers before collection
Blot a fresh spill with a clean absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, heat and untested cleaners, especially on wool, silk, natural dyes or fragile backing. If the rug is wet, allow airflow and contact us promptly to discuss handling. Repeated DIY treatment can make professional stain work harder.
How treatment is selected
After inspection of the fiber, dyes, weave, wear and stain, a suitable plan may use targeted spot treatment followed by hand cleaning or fiber-specific washing, extraction and controlled drying. Some discoloration may be permanent or unsafe to treat aggressively.

Why stain history changes the plan
A fresh spill, a stain left to dry and a mark treated with several household products are different starting points. Heat can set some soils, while alkaline or bleaching products can change a rug's dyes. Tell us what you used, even if it did not seem to work. A remaining mark may be soiling, a color change or fiber damage, and those outcomes are handled differently.
When to request help
Contact us before checkout if the stain is on silk, antique wool, a hand-dyed rug or an unstable backing. Include a photo in natural light and describe how large the mark is. We can discuss whether pickup and treatment are suitable; the final method and price follow inspection. No stain-removal claim should be treated as a promise that the rug will look new.
