Check the building before booking
Manhattan apartment buildings often control when a large item can pass through the lobby. Ask your doorman, superintendent or management whether a service elevator reservation, loading-bay booking or vendor documents are needed. Tell us the permitted window and the rug's floor, especially if the rug will be collected from an upper-story apartment.
In Midtown, Downtown and Upper Manhattan, curb access can vary by block and time. The address, building entrance and preferred pickup date must be confirmed; an online date is a request. If your building requires a certificate of insurance, send that requirement before paying so we can check whether it can be met.
Measure before the rug is rolled
Measure the actual rug, not the room or rug pad, and exclude fringe. A 4 × 6 ft rug has 24 square feet and costs $144 to wash at $6 per square foot. Rolled-and-ready pickup and delivery adds $50 per booking. Selecting help moving furniture off the rug changes that pickup and delivery charge to $100 per booking. The calculator displays the total.
Off-site washing for area rugs
We collect portable area rugs for cleaning away from the apartment and deliver them back. We do not clean installed carpet or furniture in the home. Tell us if the rug is silk, antique, fragile, shedding heavily or affected by a spill or pet odor; a standard online price may not cover special treatment. Return is generally 7–10 business days from pickup after scheduling is confirmed.
